EHDEN expands its federated network by 50% adding 49 new Data Partners, reaching a total of 143 Data Partners in 27 countries

The EHDEN Consortium is exceptionally pleased to announce that a total of 49 applicants have been selected from 17 countries in our latest fifth open call for Data Partners. Having received a total of 90 eligible applications, these 49 applications were selected by the EHDEN Data Source Prioritisation Committee (DPSC) in our largest response to date.

Combined, the selected data partners represent almost 60 million patient records, originating from various care settings, adding to the approximate 450 million records in our network currently. Four Data Partners were from prior calls, extending their mapping in this Call#5 (and not including their record count again).

This open call had a focus on countries minimally represented in the current EHDEN network, and with this current call, we now have Data Partners in four new countries: Czech Republic, Republic of Ireland, Lithuania and Montenegro. Secondly, the specific immunology and oncology focus was a huge success with 11 new Data Partners having a focus on oncology, while we also welcome several new Data Partners with a focus in Rheumatology and Rare Diseases. EHDEN looks forward to all the new Data Partners joining with the 98 Data Partners across the 23 countries from our prior four calls.

We will now be initiating the process of signing a sub-grant agreement with these new Data Partners while in parallel a work plan will be worked out and linkage to one of the EHDEN-certified SMEs will be initiated. We anticipate that the first mappings will start in the spring.
