The 4th open call for Data Partners, another tremendous success!

Between April 15th and May 13th, the EHDEN consortium held its fourth open call for Data Partners. We are delighted to announce that the response to our call has exceeded our expectations as 55 data partners applied. These applicants represent over 80 million patient records and cover 20 different countries throughout Europe, offering a diverse geographic spread. It’s tremendous to see that while we are already working with 61 Data Partners from our first three open calls, the interest in becoming part of the EHDEN federated network remains excitingly high.

The current call had a €5 million budget and while all applications were welcome, there was a specific preference towards applications from countries not yet (or minimally) represented in the EHDEN Network will be especially welcome; datasets with granular data on solid tumours and diabetes mellitus or data containing patient outcomes or claims’ data.

Following an eligibility and completeness check, our independent Data Source Prioritisation Committee (DSPC) is now reviewing these applications. We hope to have the final selection of Data Partners from the current call by mid-June and look forward to linking these Data Partners with our certified SMEs.

“We are delighted to see such a considerable response to our 4th Data Partner call, and are looking forward to collaborating with the successful applicants. They will join an already vibrant, diverse and growing community of Data Partners across the European region, and following mapping to the OMOP common data model, our open science research programme,” said Prof Dani Prieto Alhambra, University of Oxford, EHDEN Research Coordinator.
