Services

As a non‑profit organisation, the EHDEN Foundation offers services as a way to support collaboration, sustainability, and high‑quality real‑world evidence generation across Europe. These services are designed to help organisations engage constructively with the EHDEN network, make effective use of harmonised data and methods, and contribute to research that delivers public value.

Our activities focus on enabling research and capacity building rather than commercial consultancy. By providing structured, transparent, and standardised services—such as data landscaping, feasibility assessments, and support for federated studies—the Foundation helps ensure that resources flow back into the network, support data partners, and strengthen the shared infrastructure. In this way, our services play a key role in sustaining the ecosystem while remaining aligned with the Foundation’s mission of independence, openness, and scientific integrity.

Landscaping aims to identify potential data partners within the EHDEN network relevant to the research area, assessing high-level data presence, coverage, and readiness. Supports prioritisation of data partners for further feasibility assessment.

Feasibility aims to evaluate whether available standardised data can address the potential research question, obtaining cohort counts and availability of other key variables before full study execution.

In a study, we review and execute the study protocol with harmonised data partners, delivering aggregated results to answer the research question while preserving data privacy. There are different types of study depending on methodological complexity.

In a collaborative study, we write, review and execute the study together with selected data partners, delivering aggregated results to answer the research question while preserving data privacy. This approach may be of particular interest for certain, complex, studies
