EHDEN welcomes 17 Certified SMEs after the fourth and final call – now 64 certified SMEs in 22 countries

27th September 2022, Brussels, Belgium: Following the closure of its fourth and final call, which ran from 15 March - 16 April 2022, EHDEN is proud to welcome 17 newly certified Small-to-Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) to join us in the EHDEN journey. This expands the SME Catalogue with the 47 SMEs from the prior three calls, and brings the new and final total of SMEs to 64 in 22 countries across Europe. Their profiles are very diverse in both geography and organisation and they bring a depth of experience in health data, standardisation and interoperability. We would also like to extend a big 'Thank You' to our SME colleagues, and to EHDEN colleagues who were instrumental in this process.

Over the summer, these new SMEs completed the ETL learning pathway in the EHDEN Academy, and continued in the certification process with contextual sessions on the OHDSI research framework, ETLs and observational methodologies, as well as on specific tooling used. A specific dataset was explored as a use case to evaluate the SME’s ability to conduct an initial ETL through the remainder of the week, culminating in the results by the latter end, and announcement of the results.

This is a unique community of SMEs globally, and EHDEN is looking forward to collaborating with them all, increasing adoption of the OMOP CDM at scale, but also with common areas of interest in tools, skills, methods development, and training.
